How to install the heater?

It is a hardwired setup. You can attach a plug (we do not provide it) if you choose to, or have your electrician hard wire the heater to a junction box (we do not provide it). The wire from the sauna requires a 220V – 20amp double pole dedicated circuit. The 3 wires at the end of the power cord at 2 HOT / 1 GROUND. There is NO Neutral.

"How does an infrared sauna work? Is it different from a traditional sauna?"

Infrared heat is light on a spectrum that our eyes can’t see. Infrared saunas use infrared heaters to emit heat which is a narrow band of energy within the 5.6 to 15-micron level. This type of energy closely resembles the natural human spectrum so it’s easily absorbed by the body tissue. The body reacts by sweating profusely which has many health benefits including detoxification, improved blood flow, circulation and weight loss. Learn more about the difference between traditional and infrared saunas.

"How is the sauna shipped? Can it fit through my bedroom doorway?"

SunRay Saunas contain wooden panels that are pre-packaged in cardboard boxes and then placed on a wooden pallet to ensure the sauna arrives without damage. The cardboard boxes can be removed from the pallet and will fit through any door size 24” or greater.

"How long does it take to assemble the sauna?"

Most sauna models take about an hour to assemble. Two people are required. For more information on the assembly of the unit please see the assembly instructions.

"Are there any special tools required to assemble the sauna?"

No. The only tool you need to assemble the sauna is a Phillips head screwdriver or drill with a Phillips head-bit.

"Can I place the sauna on the second floor?"

Yes, you can place a sauna on the second floor. Most saunas weigh between 300-400lbs in total and this weight is often divided by 2 or 3 crates.

"Can I use the sauna outdoors?"

All SunRay saunas except the outdoor models must be used indoors. They are not suitable for outdoor use and this voids the warranty. If you do not plan to use the unit indoors, view our outdoor sauna collection

"How do I clean the sauna and how frequently?"

First, unplug the sauna and make sure it is cool before cleaning. To clean the wooden interior of your sauna mix 3 teaspoons of baking soda into a gallon of warm water. Use a towel to wipe down the interior with the baking soda and water mixture. Then wipe the sauna down with a wet towel and let dry. The glass in your sauna can be cleaned with glass cleaner. If you have an outdoor sauna, use a standard garden hose on a low/mist setting to wash out the interior. Make sure to leave the door open so the sauna can dry.

The sauna should be cleaned every 6 months or at your discretion if you are using it regularly. Using a towel to sit on while in the sauna will capture a lot of the sweat and thereby reduce the frequency of cleaning the sauna.

"How long does the model take to heat up?"

Infrared saunas take roughly 20 minutes to heat up. Traditional saunas are a bit longer. Learn more

Wonderful steam!

I love everything about this two person sauna. I have used it almost every day since receiving it. Assembly was easy with two people. It took about 1.5 hours. The steam gets very hot. I typically use two buckets of water in 30 minutes so do be afraid to put the water on for hotter steam. Perfect for what I wanted. Great product all the way around.

2 person Sauna

We have had our sauna since October and use it almost every day. The unit was smaller than expected. I would recommend going with a 3 person sauna if you want a lot of legroom. Don't be intimated by the installation and assembly. It can be done on a Saturday morning.

Door air gaps

There are two issues I’ve found, the first being the air gap around the door. Do to about a 1/4” gap around the door it allows cool air to flow in and cool the sauna down and not allow you to keep a solid sweat. However I purchased a shower door gap filler and it’s working as it should. The second issue is there should be a note to wash the rocks prior to using. They come dirty and if you f

Awesome Sauna and customer service...

Ordered the Sauna a few weeks ago. The support team kept me up-to-date with the shipping and even contacted the shipping company to get things moving.
I installed it all by myself. No problems if you have a bit of "Ikea" experience. Works like a charm and we really enjoy it very much.

Great buy. Instructions vague but workable

So far so good

Heater heats up well and the box was easy to set up, the instructions were a little hard to follow and the door doesn't seal very well but some additional hardware should fix that
